This post will take a closer look at LearnWorlds, a popular online course platform and learning management system.
We will be discussing the pricing and testing out its main tools and features.
We’ll then share our thoughts on the pros and cons of LearnWorlds based on what we have experienced, and we’ll give our final opinion about whether it’s worthwhile to sign up.
What is LearnWorlds?
The LearnWorlds platform allows creators to create and sell courses directly from their website.
It allows you to build an entire online course, including a website that converts well.
Once you have done that, you can start using the marketing and sales tools built into the system to drive enrollments.
LearnWorlds is packed with cutting-edge tools to help you create exceptional learning experiences.
This includes an interactive course and video player, flexible assessment and question banks, and deep analytics, as well as a community-building tool, a gamification system, and more.
You’ll be welcomed by the School Wizard when you sign up for LearnWorlds. This wizard will ask you a few questions to help you create your interactive online classroom.
You can see a quick overview of your most important KPIs, information about your users, and a log of recent events.
You’ll find a sidebar on the left. Click on the tabs in the sidebar for access to all of LearnWorld’s features. We’ll start with courses.
Courses
LearnWorld’s online course builder is the most important feature. It provides you with everything you need to create your educational content, and the process of creating courses is made super easy.
You will be prompted to enter basic information about the course. Enter a title, an image, a description, and a slug for the URL. You’ll need to select the type of access, pricing, and delivery options.
LearnWorlds allows you to set a starting and discount price for pricing to encourage your customers to act. This feature is useful because discounts have a significant impact on conversion rates.
You can choose to give your students access to the course immediately upon registration, or you can set up a drip feed.
The course content can be delivered at specific times with a drip feed. You can, for example, drip-feed individual lessons at particular dates or unlock content to students based on their enrollment date (i.e., Every week, every three days, etc., you can add a new chapter/lesson.
You’ll then be taken to the drag-and-drop course builder. We really like it.
This is one of the easiest and most flexible course editors that we have seen. You’ll find a number of tabs at the top of the screen: Layout, content, pricing, settings, Course Player, Video Library, and Dashboard.
You can edit your landing page for course enrollment using an intuitive drag-and-drop interface.
When we examine the site builder, we’ll discuss more about what you can do and how it functions.
Click the Contents tab to begin building our course content.
LearnWorlds courses are divided into two levels: sections and learning activities.
Sections are at the highest organizational level. They are similar to units/modules of a university course or chapters in a textbook.
Activities are a second level of organization, similar to lessons in modules or pages inside a chapter.
You can create as many sections and learning activities as you want.
Create your first Section by clicking Add Section and setting the title, access description, drip-feed schedule, etc.
Click Add activity and create your first learning activity.
There are dozens of choices available. You can add multimedia content like interactive videos, PDFs, audio files, etc. As a learning exercise, you can create a live session. You can add eBook pages, graded tests, text or video assignments, Slideshare presentations, and forms.
There are also a lot of templates that you can use to create course content quickly. You can, for example, use a welcome activity template at the beginning of your system to establish rapport and set the tone.
You can use the Instructor Assessment form template to collect feedback from students at the end of a section or course.
The template includes a Diary activity where students can reflect on their learning and make notes.
There are so many engaging, cool, and interactive lesson activity templates to choose from. This platform allows you to take your online course to a whole new level.

Course player
The course player is my favorite thing about LearnWorlds. It’s better than many of its competitors. It’s because it is incredibly interactive.
The students are not passive learners who click through pages of the course, watch videos, and read text. Students are active participants and can directly interact with the course content through the Player. Watch it in action.
The first thing you see is what you would expect. There’s a progress indicator in the upper left corner so that students can track their progress through the Section they are currently working on. Below this, there’s an overview of the areas and the learning activities within each.
Clicking on these links will allow students to move between sections of the course.
The main window shows the content of the course. The main window displays the actual content of the system.
If the activity is a simple text or video, as in the picture above, then the student can read it, click next, and mark it complete before moving on to the next one.
There are some cool things that they can do. If the learner hovers the cursor over the text, a small note-taking toolbar appears:
The user can add comments and notes to any text, as well as highlight it in the desired color. It can improve reading and scanning skills, which in turn will lead to better learning outcomes. This is also good for revision.
Students can click Share on Social and post a small snippet of your course content on their social media accounts. It’s great because it allows your students to promote your course by themselves.
The Learners tab allows students to connect with other learners in the course by clicking on it. This encourages engagement and helps create a collaborative learning environment.
Some learning activities allow students to interact with the course player in cool ways. Here’s how the course player will look if you add a diary activity.
The students can click Write, and a box will appear that they can enter directly and submit.
You can customize the look of the course player. Open your course and click Player. You can change the appearance of your system by selecting from different skins.
You can also turn on or off different features of the Player (the progress bar and tabs for learners, discussion courses, estimated reading times, etc.). You can also change the navigation (e.g., Allow students to navigate or force sequential navigation freely), create rules for learning activity completion, etc.
